Shadowboxing by Ethel Rohan
"30Rock rocks," I say, trying to drum-up conversation.
My husband pulls his attention away from the dining room ceiling. "When'd you start watching TV again?"
"Since I stopped writing."
"When'd you stop writing?"
"When'd you stop paying attention?"
"Do we have to do this?"
"When have we not done this?"

Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Ethel Rohan now lives in San Francisco. She received her MFA in fiction from Mills College, CA. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming from several literary magazines including Prick of the Spindle; Identity Theory; Miranda Literary Magazine; SUB-LIT; and Word Riot.
