Upstairs was full of insects. Candice screamed, Jonathan! Get up here! and the man came up the stairs, two at a time, bugs in the air. He swatted at them with his hands and elbows and pushed past Candice in the doorway of their child’s bedroom. Christ! he shouted. Christ!
