Empty Threat by Jess Decina
I want coffee. Dad says we’re almost home.
I gripe about the long drive. He whizzes past QuickCheck.
Wait ‘til I get my car at school. I’ll never go home. And always stop for coffee.
I’m lying. Ten minutes later I rush inside, hug my dogs and eat homemade pie.
Jess Decina is a city girl by day and a Shore kid by night and would be nowhere without her iPod, sense of adventure and the existence of blueberry muffins (they're so damn good).
