Someone knocked at Mary’s door. Chimes tinkled. She opened the door without checking the peephole. “Who is it?”

“Merry Christmas.” From behind his back, he hauled a clear crystal chandelier.

“What’s this?”

“A vase. How’s your eyesight?”

“Better.” The apartment's ceiling had space for three more.
