Monster by Nicole Monaghan

You were defeated but regenerated with deft speed, your piles mutating new girth quicker than I replenish detergent. Items slung into color-coded canvas bags power your damp, sloppy force. I think I’m ahead, doing small loads daily but you overtake me one sock, shirt, one smelly dishrag at a time.

Nicole Monaghan thinks writers are rock stars and tries really hard to be one. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in The Foundling Review, Short, Fast and Deadly, Camroc Press Review, Six Sentences and Long Story Short.
