Pink Slip by Jen Schneider
Leona read the text from her boss: “You’re fired.” She prayed that he would receive a pink slip in such a malicious manner. Instead of going to work, Leona pulled in his driveway, leaving her own undergarment in his wife’s convertible. He’d be getting his own farewell later that night.
Jen Schneider is a middle school English teacher living in Nebraska with her husband John, two dogs, and their summer visitor, her stepson Cody. Jen’s writing has been included in the 6S anthology, The Mysterious Dr. Ramsey. She is currently working on a young adult novel and writing on her blog, Life on Shuffle: A Playlist for Everday Life (authorjen.blogspot.com).
