Monday Morning by Michelle King

This early, there are more birds about than cars. Some go for traditional warbling, while others whistle. One shrieks 'woo hoo!' with totally unjustified enthusiasm. Another -- a large crow in the school playground is prime suspect -- responds with a single loud raspberry. I'm on the crow's side for sure.
