After Many Restless Nights by Alex Miller

He decided it while driving to work -- weaving through traffic, trance-like, thinking only of the girl.

He would ask her out. She would say yes. Probably she would say yes. He turned up the radio and accelerated, felt the thrum of music and pistons. He would ask her out.

Alex Miller has previously been published at Fiction365. He's an editor at a weird newspaper in Tennessee. He could use a vacation.
