Love vs. Lust by Anthony Kirchner
The carmine petals teetered as they fell. All my scorned hopes and wanton wishes are instilled into silken tabs as they're plucked, one by one, from their stem and lost to the stream below. With the corolla stripped, the stigmas and stamen stood naked and ugly.
She loves me not.
Antony Kirchner designs and sculpts lavish clay pigeons for a living; or so he wishes, as that would be more fulfilling than his current occupation of ''Deli Clerk.'' He writes in his free time to amuse himself and hopefully others. A self published body of his works can be read at, http://mightyoz.blogspot.com/.

Everyone gasped when Randy brazenly pulled down his pants during a game of Truth or Dare, but the room fell silent when Sylvia blurted, "My father doesn't wear underwear, either!"
Ethan Swage is a New Jersey–based writer/artist/photographer whose work has appeared in and is Flashshot, The Legendary, Everyday Weirdness, and 50 to 1.

Double Barrel by Robert Vaughan
When I was 13, I used my Dad's double barrel shotgun to chase James into the shower. I turned the water on while he pleaded. Later Jeff said he'd asked for it. I wasn't sure. It was all I thought about once I was in Afghanistan.
Robert Vaughan's plays have been produced in NYC, LA, SF and Milwaukee, where he currently resides. He leads two adult writing roundtables at Redbird- Redoak Studio. He likes vegetarian burritos and dark coffee. His blog, One Writer's life is at http://rgv7735.wordpress.com.

1st line by Eric G. Müller
“Sorry, I’ve just farted,” were his first words as I hopped into the rusty, red '96 Toyota pickup truck that had stopped for me as I was hitchhiking down to San Francisco along Route 101, during my freshman year.
Eric G. Müller is a musician, teacher and writer. He has written two novels, Rites of Rock and Meet Me at the Met, as well as a collection of poetry, Coffee on the Piano for You, and numerous stories. www.ericgmuller.com.

Mary Speaks by Jessica Otto
When I touched my brow to that bloody wood and cried “Praise the
Maker!” the earth opened up and swallowed a passing comet, a multitude
of stars and all that was considered holy. When I told a lie I tasted
the salt of spray that splashed the harbors of Babylon.
Jessica Otto lives in Arkansas, works in a library and writes every time she remembers that she can. She has appeared in Everyday Weirdness, amphibi.us, a handful of stones, Six Sentences and escarp. She enjoys ranting at the world at http://pyre006.livejournal.com/.

The Drunk by Neila Mezynski
She planned her days around it. The bottle. Drooling at 3:00 P.M, sweating. Wrap it up. Get home, safe house. Inside. Lovely door so closed. There it is sweetly waiting. Uncork. Swig. Aah.
The nights planned themselves.
Neila Mezynski has fiction and poetry published on Snow Monkey Journal, Elimae, Word Riot, Kill Author, Northville Review, Mud Luscious, The Scrambler among many others.

It is an Art, not a Science by Ashley Vemuri
The bet is on tolerance tonight. If you can’t hold your liquor, forget about joining us. The alcohol is cheap, pure, and strong enough to kill you. The bet is on tolerance tonight. If you can’t hold your liquor, you can pick us up in the ER.
