Sun and Care A.L.F. by Sander Blome

The monitor light disturbs my sleeping roommate. Growling under
his breath, he dislikes my hours, my computer, and my sedentary
lifestyle. I have adjusted. I’ve lived in this Assisted Living
Facility for the mentally ill three years to his three months.
He’ll adjust if he accepts he has an illness.

Crying, she wipes frantically at a fallen cigarette ember. The burn hurts; the ruined thin white blouse hurts more. The new purchase was meant for my parents. She’s seeking their acceptance before we live together. Sobbing, she blurts out, “I’m a failure. Nothing ever works.” Immediately, I propose.

Sander Blome maintains his stability by writing poetry and fiction from his residence in Southwest Florida. A writing tutor by profession, Sander is adding to his engineering and law degrees this fall, entering the literature program at the University of South Florida. His credits are listed at Trim, http://sander-blome.blogspot.com.

Sleep Aide by Sander Blome

Kathy, SunGate’s shapely housemother, finally responds to Will's advances. “Sneak into my bedroom after meds.” Sting croons “Message in a Bottle,” Kathy coos, “Just cuddle” and Will reaches underneath Kathy’s nightgown.

“Out!” Kathy yelps. Right then, Restoril’s dazing effect grips Kathy’s bedmate.

At breakfast, Kathy tests Will’s befogged memory. “Rested?"

Sander Blome denies life as a bipolar twice a day when he medicates. Now a British and American Literature major at University of South Florida, he is at work on a first book of poetry. www.sander-blome.blogspot.com.

I know what it is like to be comely and challenged, although I am neither nor do I know personally anyone who is.

Sander Blome (b.1956) lives in SW Florida. He dedicated his life to writing in 2009. Unhappy in an engineering job in Toledo, Ohio, Blome traveled and held an array of odd jobs. His most notable odd job was as sailing boat charter captain for daily trips in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Blome received his engineering degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Toledo. His poetry appears or will appear The Van Gogh Complex and The Houston Literary Review.
April 2nd, 2011 Issue: Revel In The View
9:54 PM | Author: Paul Mullin
It's a crazy world out there (take it from a part-time New Yorker) - sometimes you just have to let the river take you, sit back and 'Revel In The View.' The new 50 to 1 features work by Sander Blome, Judy Samuels, Arthur D. Casciato, Robert E. Petras, James Kowalczyk, Jim Harrington and Jamie Loftus.

Paul frequently wonders why no one has invented teleportation yet. He's also totally insane, as evidenced by his participation in Not Without Poetry's poem-a-day challenge for the month of April.
Think you should finally do that thing you’ve been talking about doing? Don’t – put it off til tomorrow. It’s healthy to wait. 'Procrastination Declaration' is the new issue of 50 to 1. Featured contributors include: Sander Blome, Kelly Schirmann, Jackie Hutchins, Viona Lam, Maggie Eismeier, Nina Roselle, and Shannon Peil.

Glen is procrastinating.
November 5, 2011 Issue: The Warmth
5:55 PM | Author: Paul Mullin
Seems like the weather is finally starting to behave true to form. That storm we had last weekend was a doozy. Another one of those, and I'm going to start missing The Warmth of summer even more. This issue of 50 to 1 features the work of Michaela Halsey, Sander Blome, Chris Dize, April Johnston, Stefanie Snider, Edward Garza and Adam Johnson.

Paul had waaaaaay too much candy this week. Curse you, Halloween. Curse you.
September 9th 2010 Issue - 'Opening Night'
3:52 PM | Author: Glen Binger
The football season starts tonight. Therefore, I’m dubbing this issue 'Opening Night.' I should probably care more than I do. Someone get me pumped. The new issue of 50 to 1 features authors such as: Nicole Monaghan, Mitchell Macdonald, Liz Haigh, Brenda Blakey, Sander Blome, Nathan Patton, and Garrett Ashley.

Glen is having a slow start to the football season. Maybe he should get into some fantasy football. Also, he wants you to know this issue has absolutely nothing to do with the sport of football.
